BASIC OCCUPATIONAL FIRST AID (BOFA)

This program is designed to train laypersons to become qualified first aiders in accordance with ACT 514 regulations. Participants will learn essential life support skills, including CPR, handling choking incidents, managing bleeding, treating wounds, burns, scalds, and fractures. The training emphasizes practical knowledge and skills to handle emergency situations confidently and effectively. Through lifelike simulations and practical exercises, participants will gain the experience needed to manage medical emergencies in the workplace and beyond.

Module 4: Fractures & Injuries Management (D.R.I.)

  • Types and causes of fractures
  • Methods of managing fractures

Module 5: Practical on Bandages

  • Large arm sling

Module 6: Treatment of Common Medical Conditions

  • Treatment for epilepsy, fainting, and choking
  • Treatment for hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia, and chemical exposure
  • Treatment for shock, heart attack, and cardiac arrest

Module 7: What is CPR and AED?

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Responsibilities of Basic Life Support
  • Primary survey (DRSABCD)

Module 8: Introduction to AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

  • AED treatment for adults, children, and special needs individuals
  • Recovery position and physical assessment during CPR

Module 9: Medical Treatment Best Practices

  • Do’s and don’ts in medical treatment
  • Medical box requirements and contents
  • Post-test and assessment

This course offers practical, hands-on first aid training, equipping participants with essential life-saving skills required for emergencies. It is aligned with the latest ACT 514 regulations, ensuring compliance with national safety standards. By combining theoretical knowledge with real-life simulations, participants gain the confidence to respond effectively to accidents, injuries, or medical emergencies
