Red Hat Enterprise Linux System Administration II (RH134)

Red Hat System Administration II (RH134) is the second part of the RHCSA training track for IT professionals who have already attended Red Hat System Administration I (RH124). This course delves deeper into core Linux system administration skills, including storage configuration and management, installation and deployment of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, management of security features such as SELinux, control of recurring system tasks, management of the boot process and troubleshooting, basic system tuning, and command-line automation and productivity. This course is based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.3.

  • Module 1: Improve Command Line Productivity
    • Run commands more efficiently using advanced features of the Bash shell, shell scripts, and various utilities provided by Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Module 2: Schedule Future Tasks
    • Schedule commands to run in the future, either one time or on a repeating schedule.
  • Module 3: Tune System Performance
    • Improve system performance by setting tuning parameters and adjusting the scheduling priority of processes.
  • Module 4: Manage SELinux Security
    • Protect and manage the security of a server using SELinux.
  • Module 5: Manage Logical Volumes
    • Create and manage logical volumes containing file systems and swap spaces from the command line.
  • Module 6: Access Network-Attached Storage
    • Use the NFS protocol to administer network-attached storage.
  • Module 7: Control the Boot Process
    • Manage the boot process to control services offered and troubleshoot and repair problems.
  • Module 8: Manage Network Security
    • Control network connections to services using the system firewall and SELinux rules.
  • Module 9: Install Red Hat Enterprise Linux
    • Install Red Hat Enterprise Linux on servers and virtual machines.
  • Module 10: Run Containers
    • Obtain, run, and manage simple, lightweight services as containers on a single Red Hat Enterprise Linux server.

The performance-based Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) exam (EX200) tests your knowledge in areas of system administration common across a wide range of environments and deployment scenarios. The skills tested in this exam are foundational for system administration across all Red Hat products. By passing this exam, you become a Red Hat Certified System Administrator. This credential can also serve as a foundational step toward the Red Hat Certified Architect certification. The exam is based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.2.
